Ask Draco Vesylia

emeraldneko11:

” I was just…not sure why you kissed me is all.” Suzaku responds, noting Draco’s concerned expression. “In my culture a kiss on the cheek is something quite intimate and usually reserved for someone you have romantic feelings for…” He explains. “But I do realize that perhaps it is different in your culture…” Suzaku adds, as he knew it was even different among other humans.

Draco looks embarrassed  scratches the back of his neck and has a slightly awkward smile, “I see… my apologizes then. Quite honestly I would not know if I do have romantic feelings for you or not. As I do not know what those are like?” he blinks and his ear twitches looking curious at Suzaku, “I’ve been told of many different opinions on kisses. And varied degress of what different types mean. I suppose your culture is one that reserves kisses strictly for non-verbal declarations of romantic interest? I learned forehead kissing from Snow Mishibari. She seemed Japanese or partially Japanese at the very least. Japanese was her first language and she wore what she called a kimono. I was told those are a Japanese sort of clothing? She informed me forehead kisses are an expression of friendship and caring for your friend. Ice Dragons also link significance to forehead contact. Though the way an Ice Dragon regards forehead contact is linked to the level of trust you afford the person you let touch it, or that you try to touch. The highest level of trust you can get from an Ice Dragon is forehead touching, next to neck biting without the intent of harm.” he hums, “Though neck biting is also linked to consent for mating so that is slightly different. I suppose forehead contact is comparable to an expression of friendship, though it might also be an indication that hate does not exist and therefore the option of mating is possible if courtship is agreed upon.”

Suzaku’s eyes widden. “C-Centuries? Do dragons really live that long?” He thinks back for a minute and recalls hearing an old story adapted from Chinese myth about a dragon who was thousands of years old. “Well certainly humans seem short-lived compared to that.” He comments with a bit of a chuckle. “I think some people believe that there are people more intelligent than us on other planets but those people are often viewed as nerdy or well..strange I guess you could say.” Suzaku nods. “Like you said many people believe that we humans are the most intelligent beings, though I often wonder if that’s actually the case sometimes, humans can become pretty stupid if things like pride or jealousy come into play.”

“I see, so those countries exist in your world too? It’s been forever in this world since we were last able to call those countries by their names, thanks to Britannian rule…” Suzaku shakes his head, best not to get into too heated a discussion. “So you are more used to cold weather? I think the closest place with that sort of climate would have to be Hokkaido, Japan’s northern most island, it’s cold there and snows often, the mountains are nice there, so is the food.” He exclaims, getting a little hungry thinking about the delicious crabs he had a few years back when he visited there. Suzaku’s expression fades with Draco’s next comment. “I am not pretending at all…” He nods at the last part of Draco’s comment. “Yep, that’s pretty much why Lelouch gets upset at me, he says that other’s will use me if I don’t set boundaries.”

Suzaku makes sure that Draco can get back to his feet safely. “Are you too tired to take a human form?” He asks, a bit worried about how others might react to seeing him. “I don’t think the store clerk has ever seen a Dragon before but if it’s too much I could figure out a place for you to hide I suppose…”

Draco nods, “Yes, hundreds of years is a normal life span. If they do not die in battle or of disease some think purebloods may even be immortal. If a dragon is a half-breed of a non-dragon they will still have a long life span if they survive past the hatchling stage, but their longevity is shorter. I do not know how long my life span may be due to how diluted my dragon blood is, but I seem to have quite a few dragon traits, so I expect it to be longer than a normal human span at the very least.”

“Hn, I certainly would not call humans very intelligent beings because of how volatile they tend to be when the vast majority let emotions blindly control them.”

“I suppose they do? I have not seen them. Japan is the one I hear about most, it seems to be the most renowned. China would be the next most spoken of. I only know of England because of Arthur.” he tilts his head thinking about ‘Britannia rule’ before nodding in response to the question about climate, “Yes, I prefer cold weather. It is what I am most suited for. Hot weather does not agree with me.” he smiles, “I like mountain terrain along with much snow the most. Hokkaido sounds like a lovely place.”

“Hmm. Pardon me, I did not mean to imply you were. It is just that my father is the type of person to manipulate a person by pretending to help them only so he can force them to do what he wants or give them something he wants later on. Reisei only seems to help people to suit her personal beliefs rather than for the other person’s sake. Considering she’ll force her assistance onto a person even if they refuse it because it makes her feel better.” he nods again, “I would agree with Lelouch on that. You need to have clear boundaries set up so you do not do more than is good for your own welfare. You risk self-destruction and it makes you much more likely to be taken advantage of.”

He’s readjusting his wrappings that hold the egg to his back before looking to Suzaku, “Well… I am still wearing the collar. If it is not malfunctioning and because it is difficult to remove I should be human?” he looks down to his bare feet and fingers and doesn’t see his claws, he feels human teeth in his mouth when he runs his tongue along them, “Is English the major language here as well? I only know English, French, Sign Language, and Draconian. I do not speak Japanese… though I am considering having Reisei teach me.”

emeraldneko11:

“I see… ” Suzaku blinks thoughtfully for a moment, He wondered if this new power was anything like the blood arts or if it was something completely different. He is curious when he hears Draco mentioning Reisei. “Then is she a demon?” Suzaku wonders, a tad confused as to why Draco  would be keeping company with her if she was a demon. “I…I’ve never thought of demons as food, my people are used to demons as creatures that need to be appeased.” He nods slowly. “I-I don’t mind if you need to check my eden.” Suzaku wasn’t entirely sure what exactly that would entail but he shouldn’t refuse any help. “So, fresh blood may also help?” Suzaku ponders this for a moment. “What sort of animal would best? Do some contain more eden than others?”

Suzaku sighs feeling a bit worried, he could sew but not very well at all. The best he could manage was a patch up job on ripped shirts or pants, he didn’t know how to fasten clothing or anything too fancy. The thought occurs to him that Lelouch is good at sewing but it would be far too difficult to involve Lelouch.  He bites his lip thoughtfully. “I suppose I could try my best to tailor a shirt for you but… I am not all that skilled in sewing sadly…” Suzaku admits with a slight frown. “my friend Lelouch is actually quite talented in that field but explaining things to him would be difficult I think.”

Draco’s tail swishes slightly, “Well… she is only a little Shadow Demon. Her father has some Demon in him, she is mostly dragon biologically.” he pauses, “Well… I still have to ask Mother, but both Reisei and her father smell delicious to me. But her mother does not, she is a pureblood Dark Dragon. So Viveka and I assume it is the demon in them that makes them smell like food. With you having a much stronger scent-” he cuts himself off again because his instinct to eat Suzaku is pushing it’s way to the surface of his consciousness again, “Well I do believe it is just natural for Ice Dragons to prey on demons, Viveka also thinks this may be the case.” Draco laughs slightly when Suzaku mentions appeasing demons, “I have met demons, they are no different from other beings really. I certainly do not regard them in the same manner as your people. If I had then I am sure I would feel differently about you, but I do not. Whether you are human or demon does not matter. How you behave and the way you treat me is what’s important.”

“I will only check your Eden if you wish it. If I discern your Main Eden Element and/or sub-element it will make narrowing down what magic you unconsciously used much easier. As you used magic unconsciously whatever element you are naturally affiliated will be the sort of magic you used. It is harder to use magic that is not your main type unconsciously  And If I know the element deducing your spell or spell type will be easier than blind guessing. If you could also tell me the condition of the body or the surrounding area that would also help a great deal.”

He nods, “Yes, fresh blood is actually better than meat that has been dead for a while, considering fresh blood has much more Eden due to it having just come out of the body.” frowning a little his tail twitches, “Well… magical creatures are best, or even creatures who were manipulated magically manipulated from their natural state. But if magic is rare in your world… I do not think the animal matters so much. But being able to get a large quantity of blood or a fresh kill without too much suspicion would be best. I need more blood and meat if the creature is not magical because it has less Eden for me to absorb.”

He frowns slightly and his ears fold, “Well… we could always cut the slits, I put the shirt on, then you can sew up the bit of the slit that does not have my wings through it. It does not need to look exceptional, just be functional. I also do not expect to be removing the shirt any time soon.” he nods and sighs, “Yes, explaining things to an outsider might be difficult, especially if he does not know about me previous to now…?” Draco’s tone shifts to a question as he trails off.

emeraldneko11:

Suzaku listens intently, considering this concept of time difference a little more. “Having a long life sounds nice but… I imagine it gets difficult.” “Our planet is also called Earth, we have many different countries though, so we refer to ourselves as being from said country, rather than mention that we are from Earth, we have yet to meet anyone outside of our own planet after all.” He can’t help but chuckle a little bit at the concept. “I don’t really consider helping others, even without anything in return a burden, some people have told me I let myself get ‘walked all over’ sometimes but I don’t see it that way, to me it’s accumulating good karma…which I need.” Suzaku looks back at Draco curiously. “Really? Oh well I suppose if it’s no trouble I’ll gladly accept your gift.” He turns his attention back to where they are walking. “Ah, We’re here.”

“Human life spans seem abnormally short from my perspective. Centuries long life spans are more normal to me as I was raised as a dragon rather than a human. So humans having decades long life spans don’t seem to make them much different from other animals from my point of view. I am only a couple decades old myself, though. Ice Dragons are not considered mature or ‘adult’ until they reach 100 human years.”

Draco nods, “I suppose if you do not meet people from other planets that is understandable. It seems like a very limited viewpoint though. It almost sounds as if you humans believe you are not only the most intelligent life on your planet, but that you are the most intelligent creatures in the universe or all the worlds even. In Edenia I have not heard of very many countries. I have heard of Japan, China, and England. Though the vast majority of the people I have spoken to speak of their village, city, or town name as where they are from. Or even a certain direction from the current location and the environment as to where they are from. I live in the far North from the Academy myself. It is a mountainous and snow laden region. I believe there is only no snow for three months of the year?”

Draco snorts, “I believe I have heard of this karama, but you sound much like Reisei. She is always involving herself in everyone’s business under the pretense of helping them. I am not sure I like this trait when it is expressed in the extreme. I do not know you very well, but I do try refrain from asking too much of you. Reisei does not seem to have a limit for what she will do for others, which is unhealthy and sounds much like what people say to you?”

Shaking his head Draco is attempting to make it back to his feet, “It is no trouble, it will only be of use to people who know what it is… but I think when it comes to Edenian or dealings with the Academy it would be beneficial. If I have made it to your world who knows who else may be visiting or if people or things are being transferred to my world as well.”

emeraldneko11:

“Yes, it’s mainly tied to spiritual beliefs…it seems to be mostly a world wide phenomena but some people also cremate their dead, that is they burn their bodies and spread the ashes. Usually somewhere that their loved one loved to be when they were alive or specifically asked to be placed.” “It is another form of connecting with the earth or sometimes the ocean.” Suzaku explains with a shy smile. “well, I am glad I was able to explain it in the least, sometimes people are too quick to jump to conclusions…to me your explanation makes sense.” He admits, the concept of Eden after all did sound familiar to beliefs of his own people. “There are many different kinds of beliefs humans have so…you never know, you may find parrallels with some humans, I can only really speak for the beliefs I grew up with, mostly Shinto with a little Buddhism, which is common among Japanese people. I know very little about the other religions of the world, there are really so many.”

Suzaku nods, understanding Draco’s predicament well. “Spreading the truth certainly isn’t easy, especially if you aren’t in a status of power or respect..but I am sure, somehow an opportunity will present itself.” He assures Draco, and also himself. “I myself am not an expert on Knightmare frames but I do know some basics, I am sure the library would at least have some books on the structure of Knightmare frames, it can get a little complex but if you have at least a basic understanding of mechanics you should be able to understand it just fine.” Suzaku chuckles lightly as Draco shows him his notebook and explains how he takes his notes. “That’s pretty smart, I can’t really understand French so you won’t have to worry about me reading your notes.” He exclaims in a somewhat playful tone.

Draco’s explanation causes his expression to sober. “I am surprised that there are so few humans that are peaceful with Dragons in your world, I suppose those who are would be outcast by other humans and maybe even some Dragons wouldn’t they?” He wonders as the realization dawns on him, it’s almost a parallel between the Japanese and the Britannians.

Draco nods, “Ah, I do think I can relate better to cremation rather than burial.” he pauses, ”Mmm yes. People at the academy seem especially prone to jumping to conclusions. They seem to prefer to look for excuses to throw magic around and start fights with anyone in their general vicinity” his tail flicks, “I can not say I know very much about religions. I am not sure if my father is part of one, but my mother is not and I spent most of my childhood with her so I do not follow any myself.”

Sighing Draco scratches the back of his neck, “Yes… I am certainly not in any position of power of influence. I may not even be in the social pyramid at all. I have noticed people have a tendency to forget my existence altogether even though I do not employ any kind of illusionary or cloaking magic. I do not know how to make myself appear invisible by reflecting light magic from my scales yet, and my scales only cover my ears, tail, and wings.”

Wings fluttering slightly his enthusiasm shows, “Yes, getting to know the basics first usually helps understand the more complex relatives.”

Smiling he tucks the pen and notebook away again, “Well… I know father encodes his notes. He also writes them in Latin. I expect that is why he forbade me from learning the language.” Draco looks slightly guilty and tries to force a smile, “I have learned a little bit, but indirectly!” he emphasizes, “There is some latin as well as German mixed in with the Draconian that Reisei’s family speaks. I have been learning that alongside her hatchling.”

“Well… actively hunting dragons as Knights in Aiden’s stories does not seem as common these days. Though Aaden did inform me of ‘Dragon Hunters’. Apparently they seek out Dragons to slay for sport; however, I have not met any. Humans also only seem to be slightly more accepting of Dragons who attempt to assimilate or denounce their dragonhood, as Reisei mostly had. If you do not do this you are usually regarded as a mindless beast. I dislike this intolerance because even if you do try assimilate you are regarded as a lesser being anyway so it seems pointless.” he nods, “Yes, it sounds about right for any sympathizers to be outcast by humans and dragons alike. Both my mother and Reisei’s mother object to human and dragon relationships in any regard, but especially romantic or sexual. I do not blame them after my experience. I would prefer to remain isolated from most of them myself as well now. Most of my associates at the academy are non-human or half-breeds like myself. I probably only know two humans who are tolerant and accepting of inhuman creatures, especially dragons. And you are one of them despite not being from my world. Viveka is the other. Any other humans I have know betrayed me” Draco frowns, “Considering how many non-humans there are in Edenian, especially on campus, I am not sure why humans deem themselves superior to us or that we should try be like them rather than accepting our differences.”
